Trust your Nokia phone to help you navigate through traffic

Here's one more good news for users of Nokia Smartphones.

The Nokia Maps/Drive app available on your phone is geared to ease your road tension.

The presence of Nokia Maps on Symbian phones or

Nokia Drive in Lumia handsets may not be news for many. However,

the fact that these two apps have been updated to provide real-time traffic updates for

Delhi and Mumbai, is sure to evoke a high level of interest among the masses.

Now, two of India's busiest metros are going to see relief from the daily traffic,

thanks to Nokia's real-time traffic update service.

Commuters can now switch to their Nokia maps or

Nokia Drive app which will effectively guide them through the inevitable hustle-bustle on the roads.

This service is currently live only in Delhi and Mumbai,

albeit Nokia promises expanding the same to more cities sooner or later.

The words of Rajat Tandon Director Sales,

Nokia - Location & Commerce, brings new hope in the sphere of location based services,

 for the loyal Nokia customers.

 Quoting him from the launch,

“The launch of this traffic feature on

Nokia smartphones reflects the ever-growing consumer appetite

for more interactive location based services beyond the

traditional turn by turn navigation.

Going forward, we will continue to introduce more location-aware services

that represent the future of mobility for consumers in India.”

The apps apparently covers as much as 1,500 km of the road system across the two cities.

This is how it works! Data is obtained from the location service on your

Nokia phone and used to assess the intensity of traffic,

based on which it assigns a colour.

It will display 'red' when the traffic is busy and 'green' when it is light.

This feature is available on Nokia phones running Symbian or Windows.
